7th August 1895 – First son, James, born in Trim Workhouse, Trim, County Meath.
21st November 1895 – Age ‘full’. Married James Mangan in the Catholic Chapel of Trim, County Meath. Residence given as Carberstown (but this could also be Carberrystown). Father’s occupation given as ‘Labourer’. Marriage witnessed by John Egan and Rose Adams. The marriage appears to have been registered on 28th December 1895 but there appears to be confusion in the register.
19th January 1897- Second son, Joseph, born and baptised. Was living in Brannockstown, County Meath.
12th July 1898 – First daughter, Kathleen/Catherine, born. Was living in Brannockstown, County Meath.
29th January 1900 – Third son, William, born. Was living in Brannockstown, County Meath.
1901 Census – Recorded as CM, age 32, residence Brannockstown – recorded in Trim Workhouse.
8th May 1901 – Age 36 (should probably be 32). Died in Trim Workhouse, Trim, County Meath. Cause of death given as ‘Phthisis* – 1 year – Certified’.
* An archaeic name for consumption/tubercolosis.
Kate’s eldest son James, my grandfather, could remember his mother and used to describe her as having blonde hair and blue eyes. He could remember being carried by her. He was 6 years old when she died.
